There are times when I either don't have time or don't think a family really wants someone waiving a camera around. So if there are big gaps and a lack of faces it's because sometimes the people involved have suffered a devastating loss or asked if I'd mind not shooting video. I respect all those requests. My primary concerns at a fire scene are public safety, the safety of my fellow firefighters as well as my personal safety and protection of property. If there's any time left for video, I'll pull the camera out. But I'm not going to endanger anyone or anything to get the shot.
