This is our annual fund raiser. We smoke pork shoulders for a full 24 hours. No other bbq tastes quite the same and we get most of our business from repeat customers. This is the effort you have to put in to keep the lights on when FEMA calls your grant application "deficient". This year we had six inches of snow on the ground when we got done. The guys tend those fires and smokers all night long.
A neighboring department has a smoke trailer and is nice enough to invite us along to train with them. Can't see much of them but I'll make a special trip back with the good gear to shoot them in action. This is helmet cam footage, you get what you get.
Mutual aid running water for a neighboring department. It was like answering a call in Somolia. The house was abandoned in foreclosure and vagrants had strung together electric cords to a power pole about 75 yards away. Hard to tell if was the kerosene heaters or the Christmas lights they were using as lighting that started the fire. A shame because the house was pretty well built. Right in the middle of this fire law enforcement sends us an "advisory" that there may be a dangerous paranoid delusional loose in the neighborhood. Yee-ha.
One of our training exercises. Good overview of drop tank and water shuttle. Something you big city departments don't have to do very often. And, yes, I know I mistakenly indicate the hose is inch and a quarter. It's inch and a half.

Our cherry gets his first ride on a call. We got toned out just as we finished the training exercise above. Long Day. But you get some really great shots of the radio and the box of gloves on the dash.

This landfill fire was a surreal as the video . Footage from my helmet camera which got bumped early on, hence all the shots of smoke in the trees.
This was an odd brush fire. Looked more like geothermal activity. I've got to make a new mount for my helmet cam.
